The places converge in the middle, when the light finds a brief balance before drifting off in opposite directions again. Drawing on the idea that the symbols of our dreams are nature speaking through us, the work treats space as porous and time as malleable. What matters more than locations and timelines here is the affective language of landscapes and motion, which is underscored by a sound dissolving the boundary between the two screens. varying dimensions This series of sculptures was part of the production for my exhibition, rippling through, at Komplot in 2026. My installation was split between three spaces of varying colours and brightness. In the middle space was the video work of Nowhere, knowwhere, now here, which formed the heart of the installation and connected the back and the front. In the back was a shadow installation. In the front space, which was the brightest full of daylight, were the Dust Sculptures: Shadow (Hare), Shadow (Leaves) and Shadow (Ear). Drawing on Federico Campagna’s critique of an ‘absolute language’ that frames reality through a technocentric lens, the piece questions how language, culture, and media condition anthropocentric perspectives.The work considers the impact of short-form video content as both a reflection of cultural values and a tool of escapism that fragments attention and thought. Through an essayistic, split-screen collage of found footage from various social media platforms as well as original footage, it looks at how we engage with a world in crisis, and whether algorithm-driven content can be re-imagined to foster empathy and to envision alternative futures. Decorated with symbols featured in both the film and poem, the bench structurally resembles those set along the river in Mainz, where it was first exhibited. While existing in relation to the film, the bench stands as an independent piece. As such it challenges traditional notions of what is considered monumental. It remains undecided in its role - whether it seeks to claim the status of a cultural memorial or to exist as a quieter element of public architecture. When shown together, it creates a bridge between the viewer and the film, connecting the audience to the world of its words and imagery. We follow the journey of a ceramic fish as it passes from one hand to the next, from place to place, from one time to another. Along the way, we encounter grandmothers, mothers, and daughters, moving through a poem about the past, present, and future of human and more-than-human inhabitants of the planet. Shifting between lines of individual genealogy and cosmic creation, the work reflects on how constellations of relationality take shape across time. Wip whip smack! Smack it is fast and full energy like an explosion, yet the Venus transit is also galactically slow, things take time to become, to spread, to reshape from dust. In this forming moment nothing should cater to our assumptions.... The floor is soft; the fishes, emerging from holes in the panneled ceiling, quietly sing to you a comforting song. But you have to get close. This an installation I presented as part of the Master’s expo of Sint Lucas, Antwerpen, which was held in an empty old school building. Formed from soil and earth, the table takes shape through a gesture of laying the table and gathering. Over time, white fungal growth begins to emerge across its surface, turning the sculpture into a living ground in which decomposition and regeneration unfold. Drawing on food as a carrier of memory and relation, even in absence, the work holds traces of those who have gathered, eaten, and spoken there before. The poem functions both as an ode and a lament addressed to a future child, giving voice to the tenderness, uncertainty, and grief that can accompany imagining a life that may never come to be. Moving between hope and hesitation, the work reflects on what it means to project love into an unknown future. The film unfolds in three segments: a shared meal in which a fish is passed and slowly eaten, a pregnancy in which a woman carries a fish, and a final gesture of burial in which the fish has become soil. The work stages a site of collective nourishment, where ritual, memory, and more-than-human relations intertwine. What do you expect to learn from a residency in Bosacademie? We found roots and plugs sticking out of the ground in our backyard and we couldn’t figure out where they came from, since we don’t have a big tree there. We followed them all the way to Het Bos. Turns out they are everywhere. So we decided to make this place here our archaeology site where we will dig up as much as we can find. We heard rumors of a feast that happened on this location decades ago, coming out of a tree and nurturing and feeding everything around it. We will be working hard to excavate this story so you too can get your feet a bit dirty finding a spot by the tree and plug into the stories that run through its roots.&nbsp; We don’t have a set expectation from our residency in Bosacadmie, except for that its an experiment for us. It is our first time working together, so we are excited to see what will come out of our collaboration. We can say that rocks and tales of feasts will be dug up and there will be lots of sweat and dirt.
