Julia Tröscher (1997, AT) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Antwerp. Her practice spans installation, text, video, sculpture, and sound.
She often works in response to the sites in which she exhibits, creating immersive installations that exist in symbiosis with the poetics of her writing. Tröscher’s practice departs from her understanding of {life and the cosmos} as one ecosystem. Her research focusses on the relations that connect us as humans and other than human, as part of that system. She is interested in how these relations are embedded in both learnt and embodied knowledge, and how they are translated and transmitted through history and culture.

Tröscher asks the question of how to generate kinds of knowledge that do not to center around anthropogenic, patriarchal, extractivist, white western capitalist ideals, haunted by the ghost of modernity.
